Our first full day in Rome was everything we hoped it would be. A perfect mix of sightseeing and unforgettable food.

We started the morning with a private golf cart tour around the city with Victor from Roman Safaris. It was such a fun and easy way to explore without feeling rushed. We stopped at the Trevi Fountain, the Foro Romano, and the Colosseum, taking in all the history and beauty that make Rome so magical.
For lunch, we went to La Nuova Pizzetta, a local favorite with more than 44,000 Google reviews. It completely lived up to the hype. We shared some wine, a fresh Caprese salad, and their famous Carbonara topped with burrata. Every bite was incredible.
In the afternoon, we began our Jubilee Pilgrimage, visiting all four Holy Doors of Rome’s major basilicas: St. Peter’s, St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major, and St. Paul Outside the Walls. We finished at St. Peter’s Basilica, carrying the cross to the Altar of the Confession, right above St. Peter’s tomb. It was a beautiful and emotional experience that we’ll never forget.
That evening, we somehow scored last-minute reservations at Roscioli, one of the most sought-after restaurants in Rome. Our waitress picked everything for us, including a mix of cheeses and fresh meats followed by their signature Cacio e Pepe and Amatriciana. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
