We kicked off our Euro Summer trip in the best way possible, a business class flight on Air France’s Boeing 777 from Miami to Paris. From check-in to landing, everything about this flight set the tone for the luxury adventure ahead.
Check-In & Boarding
The check-in process was seamless, and the flight attendants were incredibly warm and professional. The aircraft itself was spotless and spacious, the kind of clean where you can immediately tell it’s well cared for.
In-Flight Experience
Our 9-hour overnight flight took off right on time. About 90 minutes in, dinner service began, and we were able to choose between four different entrée options, each surprisingly delicious for airplane food. They also offered a nice variety of mid-flight snacks, perfect for those late-night movie munchies.
The drink menu was solid, with multiple wines, beers, and a good range of liquors. Air France doesn’t disappoint when it comes to in-flight aperitifs.
Entertainment & Comfort
The entertainment selection was fantastic, packed with new releases and French classics. But the real win was the lay-flat seats. With plush bedding, a soft blanket, and a comfy pillow, we both managed to get a few solid hours of sleep before sunrise over Europe.
Inflight Medical Drama (Propofol Papi to the Rescue!)
Mid-flight, there was a bit of unexpected excitement when a passenger required medical attention, and Propofol Papi was the only medical professional onboard to assist.
The Air France crew handled everything flawlessly, providing a fully stocked medical kit complete with oxygen, IV supplies, and rescue meds. Propofol Papi was able to stabilize the passenger until landing, and the airline went above and beyond afterward, sending him a handwritten thank-you note and a flight voucher!
Booking the Flight: How We Flew Business for $24 (+ points)
Now for the juicy part, how we booked this flight for next to nothing. We used 132,000 Amex Membership Rewards points, which I transferred to Air France Flying Blue through Points.me (a free tool included with my Amex Platinum).
Pro tip: The key to finding low-point business class fares is flexibility. Set alerts on Points.me and be open with your travel dates. The platform scans all airlines and makes it easy to compare multiple airports and itineraries in one search.
I highly recommend the Amex Platinum card if you travel often. The annual fee can feel steep, but with airport lounge access, travel credits, elite hotel status, and tools like Points.me, it more than pays for itself.
